We source a combination of organic, non-irradiated and Non-GMO spices from trusted sources in Illinois and Oregon. Our suppliers import from their trusted producers. They test their herbs and spices in-house.

No! All of our spices are non-irradiated, Certified Non-GMO and/or organic.

Unlike lots of spices, they haven’t been exposed to ionized radiation to kill bacteria. Instead, ours are steam-cleaned to make them safe whilst retaining their valuable qualities as spices and herbs.

Yes!  Most of our recipes work beautifully in the Instant Pot or any brand of electric pressure cooker. Follow “pressure cook” instructions on our site.

Many of our recipes will work in a Dutch oven, but because a Dutch oven will cook away more liquid than  a slow cooker, you will need to increase the amount of liquid in the recipe.

Thank you for asking!  Most of our blends are free of sugar and salt, with the exception of our Smoky BBQ, which contains a minimal amount of smoked sea salt and brown sugar, and our Indian Dal which contains a very small amount of salt.

We are careful to ensure that all of our spice blends remain fresh. For that reason, our "best-by" date is 3 years or less.

Our whole spice infusions have a similar application to steeping tea.

When using our whole spice infusion do not open the muslin bag. Insert it into your slow cooker with the recipe ingredients and discard it at the end of the entire cooking time.
